SCIENCE VS. RELIGION

 MY POINT OF VIEW

Science Vs. Religion is a very controversial topic however in my culture, religion, and science walk together. Maybe you have heard about the Mayans and Aztecs in Mexico. Those cultures were highly intelligent, processing great knowledge of astronomy, geology, and were capable of advanced mathematical and calendrical calculations. Even that they were probably the smartest culture in Mesopotamia; one of their strongest characteristics was their religion. They believed in a supreme God. The Mayans religion involved several aspects of nature, astronomy, and rituals, the Mayans built pyramids like temples for religious reasons. They developed the concept of zero independently, they developed and advanced language and writing system as well as books in rocks, the fabled Mayan calendar; their most famous invention, the Mayan astronomy was incredibly accurate, the medicine was surprising advanced, they also invented watering and agriculture systems that we use until now.

The Mayans lived 4,000 years ago approx 2000 BC. and today they are one of the reasons why I believe in God. The Book of Mormon another testament of Jesus Christ is proof that the Mayans existed and were smart enough to establish a city they also contributed to have a scientific base today.  Mayas also prove that The Book of Mormon is true, that God loves everyone in the same way, God loves people in Jerusalem and people in the Americas and He sent his son Jesus Christ to the earth so everybody knows about his infinite love for us. The Mayans and the Book of Mormon are examples of how Science and Religion can walk together.
